Hospital pharmacists are becoming increasingly more involved in the treatment of cancer patients in order to prevent complications, provide patients with information and guidance and monitor side effects and their nutrition and skin care. 

Traditionally, this group has never been in close contact with cancer patients, although previous research had uncovered the need for improvements in this area. To this end, an official mixed medical training programme (attendance-based and online) was set up to improve hospital pharmacy staff’s communication skills for cancer patients.
